I bought this product to use for diagnostic purposes. My biggest complain for live data is the graphs. There is no option to zoom in and out for graphs and this sometimes makes it hard to read data accurately (o2 sensors especially).Overall it’s not a bad scanner but for the price some simple functions should be incorporated and available.Easy to use and accurateI don't know a lot about vehicles and I was sick of getting ripped off at the mechanic. While this might not be perfect for someone who works on cars for a living, it was fantastic for me. It's so easy to use, literally you just plug it in and turn the key. The instruction manual is easy to use and it has several features. It will not only provide the diagnostic code but an actual description of the code on the screen. It even gave me an estimate on what part I needed. I love it because some little things I can fix, but even if I can't, I have enough information when I go to the mechanic that I can tell if they are trying to scam me.Now, for people complaining that the code is "wrong", this isn't exactly true. It will give you a code, but you have to keep in mind that there could be several reasons for that code to be coming up. For example, a faulty oxygen sensor can cause the computer to give several different codes depending on which one failed. My recommendation is to do the diagnostic, get the code, and then do some research (I use the Haye's manual and several online forums) to get an idea if there could be more than one thing causing that particular read out.Great for the money. But don’t think you’re getting a top tier scanner. It will do A LOT but it won’t do it all. A++Just received this today. I plugged it in to my 2015 Tahoe with no problem. I like that the display is in color and really easy to navigate thru the device. Few draw backs. I'm a novice with devices like this and auto repair in general, so it would have been nice to get a booklet that lists all the various fault codes with descriptions. Also the instruction manual is pretty vague and written in crazy small 5 pt font. The software needed to update the device is not compatible with Mac computers so I have to use my wife's pc. Not a big deal but it's just one more thing I didn't know. I didn't have any faults on my vehicle when I plugged it in so I haven't been able to see how good the device is with translating fault codes to plain English. The emissions test mode is great before going for a State inspection. I'm looking forward to exploring the device more.This is a great device for the money and easy to use. It does not have its own power source. It gets its power when you connect it to your vehicle. I bought this unit because my check engine light would come on and go off my the time I made it to the dealership. I read the code when the check engine light came on, and it let me see that the code stayed stored even after the check engine light went off. I shared this information with the dealership and it assisted them in diagnosing the problem. I was able to get this valuable information for just $40. This unit also is updatable for free with the use of your computer. The only drawback I have found is that there are many diagnosis screens with abbreviations that I do not understand and there are no abbreviation definitions in the manual, but these additional screens are not necessary to read the code for the check engine light.Great product for the price. It does exactly what I need it to do. Scan/ Read/ Delete codes. The system readiness and the live data option are a BIG + for a scanner in this price range. My ONLY complaint is that the cord is too short. Depending on the vehicle, it may be a little hard to read while seated comfortable, but other than that, its a great buy..I bought this for my 2007 Mazda CX-7 because I wanted to check it before taking the car for an emissions test. The device plugs in goes through the various checks and provides the results of the code. It was very easy to use and I was able to determine if there were any issues I needed addressing. It's a great price for it as many mechanics charge a diagnostic fee even before doing anything to the vehicle. It has some great features like the Live Data.I Received this Foxwell Diagnostic device promptly, and in working order,I was having a problem with a Vauxhall Zafira 1.8 litre that I had just bought as a non-runner, and it helped me diagnose the problem pretty quick. However, due to the nature of the fault with this car (ECU overheating) initially, I could not get it to communicate with the ECU because the ECU was hot, but once the ECU had been allowed to cool, it did communicate with the ECU successfully and allowed me to clear some fault codes.Having done this, the ECU worked well for a while before the original faults showed themselves again as the ECU became hot when in stop / start traffic, and I was able to check the vehicle faults codes when the ECU had cooled again.The foxwell worked well for me, and saved me both time, and the cost of the device on its first outing, and I an very pleased with it.Incidentally, I solved the ECU overheating problem by removing the ECU, and mounting it on 4 inch studs; distancing it off the engine block, and into cooler air, since then, the Zafira has been in daily use for several weeks, without any recurrence of the original ECU overheating problems, so the Foxwell has also [ indirectly,] saved me the cost of a new ECU.I have tried this on 3 different Cars and it has picked up error codes on one of the. It is easy to use so anyone can have a go. I cannot compare this product with others on the market because this is the first one I have tried. The error codes can be searched on the computer using the software from Foxwell. ( you will need to download this onto your computer ). The software can update your device for life using a computer.Excellent product and exceptional service from Autosos and Amazon.Great value for money and it means that no more need for the process of elimination to repair cars in the majority of cases.A must buy product and would recommend too anyone needing this kind off Tool.Only does engine codes, but worked well right until I tried to update it via there app, on my PC. It found what it needed and downloaded, then while updating it cashed, as it says don't unplug while updating I left it plugged in hoping it might sort itself. But to no avail, so it's not working and no use now, no reply to mail either.Well pleased with the product, had a problem with my Mercedes Vito, plugged the diagnostic tool in and it told me straight away what the problem was. Got the parts and fitted them and the problem is now solved.
